The Associazione Italiana Studenti di Fisica (AISF) is the national committee of Italian physics students. It was created during ICPS 2014, in Heidelberg (Germany), where a group of about 20 Italian students decided to attempt the foundation of a new national group of IAPS. Within a few months, AISF registered as a non-profit organisation in Italy and opened a bank account. Its status of national representative for physics students has also been accepted by the Italian Physical Society.

AISF became a provisional IAPS National Committee in February 2015 and is one of the organising parties of the first Particle & Astroparticle Physics Spring Programme, set up together with IAPS and the Gran Sasso National Laboratory in Italy.
AISF is still at the beginning of its activity, but aims at learning from the experience of other IAPS NC’s, for instance by organising its Annual General Meeting within a national meeting to be held before ICPS 2015.In November 2014, AISF has been given responsibility, together with the EPS Young Minds, for the organisation of a “youth session” at the 101st Congress of the Italian Physical Society, to be held in Rome in September 2015.
