Educating generations worldwide
Education and outreach is quite new and exciting area for IAPS. The aim of this subcommittee is developing a sustainable strategy for IAPS to be involved in education and outreach of physics. All IAPS members are welcome to join! However, if you know of an alumni or professor who might contribute as a consultant, please let us know.
The plan for this year is to develop the School Day project further, start internal network for outreach training and education with three international workshops for this year, develop a strategy and start physics education research for IAPS and help external projects (which will be chosen by volunteers from a pool of suitable ones). This will be done by using contacts from the GIREP and HOPE networks, collaborating with other student associations and developing material for members, sponsors and other interested parties.
If you are interested, please send in your CV to edu(at)iaps(dot)info and share your view on following questions:
- Why do you want to work in international outreach projects?
- Could you organise a small outreach event in your university (up to 30 participants)?
- How much time do you have on your hands?
- What is your favourite experiment and what does it show?
- How did you get interested in physics?
The questions are posed so we can get to know you better and see which task suits you best. If you are enthusiastic about communicating science, creative, a hard worker or at least one of the above, there is something for you to do.
